HEYPENNY RELEASE NEW RECORD FOR FREE VIA CRAIGSLIST+VIDEO PREMIERE FOR FIRST SINGLE “LA LA LOUD”

In what 99% of the population might mistake as an article straight out of The Onion, Nashville, TN based indie-pop rockers HEYPENNY are 100% serious about giving their album away online. The band literally finished mastering late last night and decided to get it in the hands of fans immediately.

“The old business model is dead, bands don’t need labels, they need Twitter followers, Facebook friends and clever ways to attract new fans,” says drummer Aaron Distler. “Why not give your album away on a website for free that has 40.8 million visits per month?”

It’s a wholly unique approach for a unique album that offers a glimpse of Heypenny's softer, prettier side. The idea behind TENDRE marries Heypenny’s tight, succinct and staccato songwriting with soft, delicate melodies, strings and horns.

To go along with the record release the band is also premiering a brand new video for the first single off of TENDRE “La La Loud” . Recorded from sun down to sun up (yeah that's right, backwards) at a beautiful house nearby Shelby Park in East Nashville, the band recreated a dinner party from the 1920’s that ends up going all night long. The video was filmed by Victor Huckabee and edited by, the Singer/Songwriter of Heypenny, Ben Elkins.

The band will be playing a couple of shows to celebrate the release of 'TENDRE' and is hitting the road for a US tour including SXSW.
